Our Premier Women’s coach has not only been appointed the National Senior Women’s Head Coach for the next four years, but she has also been given the huge task of setting up the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Indoor Volleyball in Canberra as the Head Coach there as well.
We are, of course, sorry to see Shannon leave us, but we do know it is only a temporary absence and she will be back to coach the Bergers at some point in the future, around 2024.
We are very proud and happy for her in pursuing her volleyball dreams, so from all of us at Heidelberg we wish Shannon, Mark, Riley, Campbell and Brooklyn all the very best for their new adventure.

The Heidelberg Volleyball Club is calling for applications for Coaches and Assistant Coaches for teams competing in the 2017 VVL.
It is a very exciting time to be involved with Heidelberg Volleyball Club and we are looking for innovative, well-organised and passionate people to lead the teams through VVL 2017.
The Men’s program has been rebuilding for two years and is ready to deliver strong results across the top three divisions of VVL. Our current playing list has been loyal to the Club through some tough times, and they are all motivated to perform at their best. We are very confident our Men’s program is heading in the right direction.
The Women’s Premier team is the 2016 VVL champions, the Reserve Women’s team is on the cusp of pushing deep into the finals, and our Division 2 and 3 Women’s teams are full of very exciting young players. All teams are expected to play finals next year.
Heidelberg Volleyball Club has a very strong junior program and with the right coaches in place can set itself up as the premier junior program in Victoria.
Please email the club ( by Friday 28th October if you are interested in being involved with Heidelberg Volleyball Club in 2017.

What a month for the club with so many players trying out for, and making state and national teams. Well done to all the Bergers who put themselves on show at the trials. I am sure you have learned a lot from the experience. And for those who have been selected, now the hard work begins at training:
Victoria Under 17 Girls – Lara Adam, Keely Knight, Presi Petkova and Caitlin Topping.
Victoria Under 17 Boys – Lorenzo Pope.
Victoria Under 19 Girls – Mikayla Adam, Brooke Freckleton and Ruby Valentine-Bell,.
Victoria Under 19 Boys – Mackenzie Lowe and Darcy Wischer.
And still in the squad for selection into the Victorian Under 15 teams are Lauren Cox, Keely LoPiccolo, Shante Pisani, Mikayla Plapp, Maya Secchi and Sasha Brooke.
Lara Adam, Caitlin Tipping, Darcey Wischer and Alek Ryan represented Australia in Thailand last month. Hannah Martin and Jaimee Lee Morrow will play in the Australian Senior Women’s team this month and Mikayla Adam and Brooke Freckleton will represent Australia later this year.
And good luck to Shannon Winzer (Head Coach) and Jenny Becker (2nd Assistant Coach) with the Volleyroos at the World Grand Prix in June.
