  1. Hi,
I was hoping to get back into volleyball and was wondering how to go about joining the HVC.
I’m 20, I play social at Kew, I’ve played in schools cup in high school since year 8, and at Unigames for two years. I’ve never played at the state league level, but I would like to. Please let me know via phone or email as to how to go about it all 🙂
I look forward to hearing from you.

  2. Hi my name is Chamari and im 18 years old. I used to play volleybal at PEGS last year. Im in my girst year of uni this year and was wondering how i could play with you. Im not sure if i can play games, but is there any chance i could just come for training atleast?
Look forward to hearing from you!

    • Definitely. Head along to training next Tuesday night ready to train and speak to Jonny or Jenny. If you play State League, training is included in your club fees, otherwise it’s $10 per session to a maximum of $100 for the year. Don’t worry about the fee for your first session.

  3. I’d be really interested in playing either socially or joining a beginner team. Am I able to come along to training if I’m a beginner?

I’m 27 so could I go to seniors training on a thursday night?

    • If you have played before, you can head along to training on Thursday night to see if it’s what you’re looking for. If not, look into Challenge Volleyball. It is a social competition run in Reservoir on weeknights and caters for all levels from beginner up. Contact Tony on 0410 444 785 for more info.

  4. Hi, i have a 10 year old interested in starting as a beginner can you let me know who or where is the best place to start. We live near Eltham

    • Hi Paula. Thanks for the interest. There’s no need to pre-organise training, you can just head along to CLC, Eltham tonight. Training starts at 6pm, so if you can get there a little bit early and introduce yourself to one of the coaches, that would be great.

  7. my year 7 daughter is interested in playing volleyball but I have been having trouble finding a club. Is the training at PEGS only for kids at that school? We live in Port Melbourne so I think that would be easiest to get to but open to other suggestions. Also when do they play matches?

  8. Hi,
Im 16 and i have’nt played volleyball before but i would like to.
So how can i join a good team and where?

    • Hi Sandra,
Please feel free to come along to any of our Junior training sessions. You will find details under the “Junior Program” link at the top of the page. There will be coaches at these sessions who will be able to help you learn to play volleyball. All the best!

  9. I have just moved to Melbourne and I am looking for a team in Melbourne. My initial plan is for training only, and hopefully, get back in shape, as I have been without playing for a while.
I used to play as libero and second setter at my hometown’s team in Spain ( and I have played last season for Riga Volleyball in the UK (
I work at Ford in Campbellfield, so it should not be too bad to drive to the venues.

    Thanks and regards.

    • Hi Lafayete,
Thursday nights will be the best night to start training so please feel free to head along ready to train and speak to any of the girls/coaches there.

  10. Hey there,
A friends and I are looking for a volleyball club to join up? Just wondering whether it’s too late to come down and have a hit and see how things go? We played throughout high school and both in our first year at uni and looking to get back into the swing of things.

    Cheers m.

    • Hi M,

It’s too late to play State League as there’s only three rounds left before finals. There will be a few post-season tournaments happening though, so please feel free to come along on Thursday night and introduce yourselves to the club.

  11. Hi,

I’ve never played volleyball before (except some lessons at school), but would like to try. I’ll appreciate a lot if you can help me to choose where I can start. Does your club provide beginner classes?

    Thank you

    • Hi,
Yes the club provides beginner training at any of the trainings from 6pm to 7.30pm on either Tuesday or Thursday. We will break over the school holidays so come along in the next week or so and see if it is for you.

  12. Hi,
My 14 year old daughter is interested in volleyball. She is a beginner. Has the season finished now or is there coaching throughout the summer?

  13. We will be training until the last week of November, and finishing the year with the Junior Program Christmas Breakup on Sunday 25 November. So there are still plenty of opportunities before the year is out.
