SCHOOL SPORTS VICTORIA STATE TEAM TRYOUTS
For all junior Bergers who will be turning 15 or younger this year, you are encouraged to get along to the School Sports Victoria State Team Selections. Click here for more information.
We had a great turnout for our first week of trials for the VVL teams for 2016.
On Tuesday we had 20 men trial, and we expect a few more who couldn’t make it, to be there next Tuesday night at PEGS (Corner Rachelle and Keilor Roads East Keilor) from 7-9.30pm. We also had a good turnout for the Div 2 West Women’s team and positions are almost filled.
On Wednesday we had over fifty women attend the trials at Darwin Community Sports Centre (857 Plenty Road Reservoir) from 7-9.30pm. While the Premier Women’s team has been selected, we will continue trials for teams to compete in Reserve, Div 2 (multiple teams) and Div 3 over the next couple of weeks.
So if you couldn’t make it to last weeks sessions, get along to the Club trials next week.

Wow, the news just keeps getting better. Congratulations to Lara Adam who has been selected into the Australian Youth Women’s Team for their upcoming tour of Thailand. All of us at the Club who have been involved with her development are very proud of her.
Congratulations to Darcy Wischer who has been selected into the Australian Youth Men’s Team for their upcoming tour of Thailand in April. All of us at the Club, and in particular coaches Scott and Matt, wish him well as he joins the long list of Heidelbergers who have represented their country. This list continues to grow.
We had a great turnout last night on the first night of trials for the Premier and Reserve Men’s teams and the Div 2 West Women’s team at PEGS.
With 20 guys turning up for the first night of trials, and with more to join who couldn’t make last nights training, the Club looks set for a really competitive year in both Premier and Reserve Divisions. Our outstanding coaching group of Scott, Matt, Jim and John will be looking to get the most out of the playing group this year.
The girls trained strongly and will be looking to push into the finals this year with a very talented group of players.
Team selections will continue for the next two weeks at PEGS before final teams are named. Spots are filling fast.
The remainder of the women’s teams will commence trials tonight at Darebin Community Sports Centre, 857 Plenty Road, Reservoir from 7-9.30pm. Positions in all teams are up for grabs as new coaches Shannon (Premier) and Jonny (Reserves) will be looking at all players with fresh eyes. Craig, Jenny and Tanya will be looking to select two very competitive Div 2 teams and Emily will provide a talented group of junior girls their first taste of VVL in a Div 3 team.

Congratulations to the TEN Bergers who have been selected into the 2016 Vic State Junior Beach Teams:
Beach Volleyball is a great game to play over summer. Form your own team and have a hit on the sand. It’s not as easy as it looks but will, if anything, prepare you for a big 2016 indoor.
